NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
I wrote this book over 13 years ago and my original intention was to publish a book. I was around 17, 18 or 19 years old when I wrote "The Book Of Excuses". I spent so much time writing, editing and organizing. Excuses didn't come easy to me, so it took me a long time to write this book. At the time, I thought it was funny, and I also thought it was going to make me lots of money. Another few reasons why I probably wrote this: 1-I’ve had so many jobs I didn’t enjoy and I always loved and preferred spending time with family and friends, so maybe I was looking for more ways to get days off. 2-When I first skipped class in highschool (bad influences), it taught me that the world was still happening and having fun, regardless of my obligations. 3-The movie 'Ferris Buellers Day Off’ probably influenced my decision to write this book. 4.When I would share this idea with friends, they all loved it. 5-Looking back, this project taught me and gave me patience through a very long and tedious creation process. 6-Since I hated telling excuses, it really made me push for ideas and stretch for new content which helped me later down the road with other projects and creations. It was first written on sheets of lined paper, then I typed it up on my out of date laptop that was passed down to me. There are a few reasons why I decided not to publish "The Book of Excuses". First because I didn't want to be known as the "excuses guy". Second, ironically enough, I hated telling excuses, I was always upfront and dependable. And lastly because I didn't want to incentivize people to use excuses. So looking back, it turns out I made an excuse not to publish this book. But now, I made it available to the world, just cuz. Shoutout to Sabrina for her help, support and contribution during the creation of "The Book of Excuses".Excuses are for losers. Don’t use them. I wrote this book when I was young and stupid. If you love your job, you don’t need excuses. Being honest and telling the truth is always the best way to confront any situation. If you really need or want a day off work, be honest with your employer. The Book of Excuses has been published in book form and is available on TheBookofExcuses.ca for entertainment purposes only.
All the best,
Damian
